Top Smartphones Under 15000 in Nepal- Price, Display, Cameras and other Specs.

Looking for an inexpensive yet quality smartphone? In search of a good starter phone for your young ones? Or, maybe you’re looking to gift one to your parents who don’t care about the specs but strive for one that is good on the hands? If you answered yes to any one of those, then this article is just what you need. Thanks to the growing competition and innovation in the smartphone industry, you can get great smartphones for as low as Rs. 15000. In this list, we’ve compiled the top smartphones under 15000 in Nepal, which offer great design alongside impressive performance

7. Samsung A10s

Starting our list of best phones under Rs. 15,000 in Nepal is the Samsung A10s. An impressive upgrade over the previous-gen A10, it offers great all-round performance on a budget. Though it came to the Nepalese market for an asking price of over Rs. 15,000, Samsung offered a price-drop in the A10s and is now available for Rs. 13,999. Hence, this makes the device an interesting option in this price-point.

What do people look for in a Samsung phone? Display, right? But you won’t be getting the company’s signature Super AMOLED displays on its budget devices. The same is the case for A10s which has a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a small ‘V’ shaped cutout (Infinity-V) for the front camera. Then again, no other budget device offers an AMOLED panel so the “A10s” doesn’t get any negative markings.

Moving on, it is powered by an octa-core Helio P22 chipset with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. This is coupled with 2GB RAM and expandable internal storage of 32GB. Light gaming, web browsing, and streaming videos should be no problem on the Samsung A10s, which is further complemented by a big 4000 mAh battery.

While the regular A10 had a single camera both front and back, the A10s packs an additional depth sensor for those valuable portraits. Similarly, it also has a physical fingerprint scanner on the back.

6. Lava Benco V8

Oh man, do you remember about 5-6 years ago when Indian smartphone brands were ruling the Nepalese market? Companies like Micromax, Karbonn, Colors, Lava, Intex set up shops left-and-right in the country. But, Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, OPPO, Gionee, etc. with their aggressive pricing strategy led to the eventual downfall of the Indian vendors’ reign.

However, a few of the Indian brands like Colors and Lava are still hanging on in the domestic market. Lava’s recently launched “Benco V8” offers an impressive design and a decent spec-sheet for a great price. It comes in a tall 6.53-inch HD+ display with an 88.2% screen-to-body ratio. By this, we can tentatively say that the phone is targeted towards content-hungry users. Though not an FHD panel, watching videos on the Benco V8 should be worthwhile.

Moreover, it also features a triple rear-camera setup with a 16MP main lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The 8MP front camera is housed inside the waterdrop notch. Therefore, the Benco V8 could be a good option for camera enthusiasts as well. So far so good.

The company that’s pretty much been ruling the budget smartphone segment for the past couple of years is Xiaomi. Its Redmi series of phones have been delivering some of the best price-to-performance results and we couldn’t be happier. The Redmi 7 which was launched quite a while ago, is one of those smartphones with an overall balanced build.

Let’s talk design first. It has a plastic back and a 6.26-inch HD+ LCD panel with a sharp ‘U’ shaped notch on the front for the selfie camera, which then nets the display to an 81.5% screen-to-body ratio. The brightness in this is impressive as well as it can reach up to 450 nits. Bezels are minimal enough on the top and side but the bottom bezel is pretty large.
